Audrey (she/her) is a cisgender female licensed psychologist who has been at UCSC CAPS since 2001.  Audrey was born in Korea but grew up mostly in Canada and the U.S.  After majoring in American Civilization at Brown University, she worked in the corporate world and on L.A.’s Skid Row as a domestic Peace Corps volunteer before finding her true vocation as a psychologist.  Audrey completed her Ph.D. in Counseling/Clinical/School Psychology at UC Santa Barbara and Doctoral Internship at UCLA.

Audrey strongly believes that, in addition to addressing problems, counseling can be an avenue for growth and self-exploration.  Understanding each client's history, identities and cultural background is foundational to how Audrey approaches counseling.  Depending on the client's needs, Audrey also incorporates various modalities, including insight-oriented therapies and skills-based therapies, such as CBT and DBT.

Audrey strongly values the community psychology model; in addition to offering individual and group therapy, Audrey appreciates partnering with others on campus to offer workshops and outreaches.

Audrey works from a feminist, multicultural perspective in which she collaborates with students to help them gain insight into their problems and develop practical skills to improve their academics, relationships, and everyday functioning. Audrey especially enjoys working with students of color, first-generation college students, and graduate students.
