Headspace
Headspace is a mindfulness and meditation app designed to reduce stress, improve focus, and support better sleep. The Headspace Student Plan offers full access to guided meditations, mindfulness exercises, and sleep tools at a reduced rate for college students with a valid university email address.

LiveHealth Online
A telehealth service providing video visits with licensed therapists, psychologists, and medical professionals. It offers convenient, remote mental health support from home or on the go.

PTSD Coach
Developed by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, PTSD Coach is a mobile app with tools, educational resources, and self-assessments to help manage symptoms of PTSD and everyday stress.

Mindfulness Coach
Helps you practice mindfulness by grounding yourself in the present moment, which can reduce stress and improve coping skills.

Mental health organizations
NAMI Santa Cruz County
The local affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness offers free support groups, education programs, and advocacy for individuals and families affected by mental health conditions. Their resources are open to the public and can be especially helpful for students seeking community-based mental health support outside of campus services.

A comprehensive resource offering advice on various mental health topics, including stress, relationships, and self-care.
Active Minds
A national nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting mental health awareness and education among young adults through peer-to-peer dialogue and advocacy.
BIPOC Mental Health | Mental Health America
MHA’s online BIPOC Mental Health Resource Center offers information and tools to highlight the unique experiences of BIPOC communities and support their mental health journeys.

There are many resources on campus to support your well-being. If you’re struggling with distressing thoughts, behaviors, or emotions, therapy through CAPS may be the right step—call CAPS to get started. If you’re more interested in setting goals and building strategies aligned with your values, wellness coaching might be a great fit. On the Margins Coaching Services
Coaching sessions offer a virtual gathering place where a UC Santa Cruz student and a wellness coach can gather for connection, care, and accompaniment.
All-Gender UCSC Restroom List
At UC Santa Cruz, there are various public restrooms around campus that are designated as all gender and/or are single-person bathrooms. Student Health Outreach and Promotion
SHOP Talk peer educators are trained to promote mental health resources and share skills that will help students succeed. Topics include: loneliness, imposter syndrome, sleep hygiene, communication, school/life balance.
Transitioning to college brings exciting new experiences but also challenges like being away from your support system and balancing new responsibilities.
