How to get support
The best way to get started is to schedule an Initial Assessment appointment with a CAPS clinician if you have not been seen this academic year. Please either call CAPS at (831) 459-2628 or visit the Main CAPS Office to schedule your Initial Assessment. IAs are typically done via Zoom or phone, but in-person options are available. The appointment lasts about 20–30 minutes.
What happens in an Initial Assessment (IA)?
During the Initial Assessment (IA), you’ll have the opportunity to discuss your concerns with a CAPS staff member and work together on a support plan. This may include brief therapy, single-session or group therapy, campus resources, or off-campus referrals. If needed, CAPS can connect you with a case manager for help navigating off-campus services.
